Terms of Use — GoneBox

1. Service Description

GoneBox provides temporary, disposable email addresses for receiving emails. The service is receive-only — you cannot send emails from GoneBox addresses. Temporary inboxes are automatically created and expire after a set period (1 hour for free, up to 24 hours for paid plans). All data is permanently deleted upon expiration.

2. Acceptable Use

You may use GoneBox for legitimate purposes such as protecting your privacy when signing up for services, receiving verification emails, testing software, and avoiding spam. You must use the service in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

3. Prohibited Uses

You may not use GoneBox for: harassment or threats; phishing or impersonation; distributing malware; child sexual abuse material (CSAM); copyright infringement; fraud or illegal financial activities; sending spam (the service is receive-only, but using GoneBox addresses to register for spam services is prohibited); any activity that violates applicable laws. We actively cooperate with law enforcement and will report illegal activities.

4. Service Limitations

GoneBox is provided on an as-is basis. Free tier users have no guaranteed uptime or service level agreement (SLA). Email delivery depends on external mail servers and Cloudflare routing — we cannot guarantee that all emails will be delivered. Emails are automatically and permanently deleted when the inbox expires. We are not responsible for lost or undelivered emails.

5. API Terms

API access is available on paid plans. API keys are personal and may not be shared. Rate limits apply based on your plan: Dev (60 req/min), Startup (300 req/min), Enterprise (1,000 req/min). Exceeding rate limits may result in temporary throttling or suspension. Automated abuse of the API (scraping, data harvesting, excessive polling) may result in permanent key revocation.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE. WE MAKE NO WARRANTIES REGARDING THE ACCURACY OR RELIABILITY OF ANY INFORMATION OBTAINED THROUGH THE SERVICE.

7. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, GONEBOX AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

8. Termination

We reserve the right to block, suspend, or terminate access for any user who violates these Terms or who we reasonably believe is engaging in abuse. For paid plans, refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. We may discontinue the service at any time with 30 days' notice.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federative Republic of Brazil. Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Sao Paulo, Brazil. For EU users, this does not affect your statutory rights under EU consumer protection laws.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
